There is no shortage of photos of my family.
It’s true. Even Jeff, who comes from a long line of people who generally detest having their pictures taken. He humors me and — mostly — allows me to click away when it comes to family photos.
So in some ways, the last thing I needed was another photograph of myself.
But I believe in things working out. Luck. Fate. What have you. Aaaaaaaand I believe in entering blog giveaways — especially when the prize is something fantastic.
A few weeks ago I got lucky over at Arkansas Women Bloggers and won a free headshot session with Northwest Arkansas photographer Linda Richards — and I decided to do something a little different. I have other recent headshots to use for social media and this website and other needs, but I’ve had this idea tumbling around in the back of my brain for an embarrassingly long time now.
On top of everything, I believe in writing down my intentions and sending them out into the interwebs. So here it is. In black and white.
I WILL: Finish and submit a piece of writing to a running magazine and/or blog that is worthy to be published alongside one of these Sporty Spice-inspired photographs.
While it’s certainly not critical to have a professionally photographed profile pic when it comes to Facebook, there is a growing trend among young professionals — and everyone, really — to have a fun, professional headshot that captures personality and polish.
Think about how many places your smiling face is featured — social media sites are just the beginning. If you blog or contribute to a local magazine or volunteer for a non-profit — chances are you’ve needed a headshot.
Well look no further, Northwest Arkansas! Linda at Linda Richards Photography was FANTASTIC. Check out her website for other headshot examples — and she does family, senior, maternity and newborn photos, too!
Oh wow, beautiful. I’m going to do this.
Hi Lyndi! You should! Linda was great — highly recommend!
