On my way in to work this morning I was listening to an old favorite — The Dixie Chicks. Specifically, the Home album. And because I’m a nerdy, wordy sap — these ‘More Love’ lyrics made me cry.
We’re afraid to be idle
So we fill up the days
We run on the treadmill
Keep slavin’ away ’til there’s no time for talkin’
About trouble in mind
And the doors are all closed
Between your heart and mine
For some reason, it just got me today. So I took a deep breath and decided I would combat the sappy nonsense with a fun photo of my family at a luau last weekend. (My parents brought back the shirts from Hawaii and I have a matching one, too, but opted out for fear of ending up on Awkward Family Photos.)
Love, love, love that song. Always will. Funny how some songs have that effect, even when we’ve heard them a million times.
I love me some Dixie Chicks. And that album is my fav!
