So much has happened since my last post– we took a week-long Christmas "vacation" to see family. No pictures from Arkadelphia (I'll have to see what I can do to get some from Sarah); I have some from San Antonio, but feel free to visit Becky's Xanga for more pics.
At Christmas at Jeff's family we had game night so I was forced to prove my Scene It? prowess. (The only person who has ever beat me is Becky and it's because she cheats.) It was a lot of fun seeing everyone and we had a great couple of days. Then on to San Antonio…
We were pleasantly surprised that the drive from Arkadelphia to SA was so manageable and seemingly short — we got there and got to do everything again! More family, more Christmas dinner, more presents, more candy and cookies and junk food. I feel like we ate nonstop all week! We have been in detox for the last few days…. While we were in SA we did everything San Antonio — the Alamo, a Spurs game, the Riverwalk — and we got to eat at HuHot!!
Here are some pics. Remember to see more at Becky's site and in the photo album.
So we made it home and have pretty much been watching nonstop football… I think we've left the house 3 times in 4 days. It is so true that you never need a vacation more desperately than when you get home from vacation!
Here are some pics of New Year's Eve with the usual suspects…
I know it's the cliche thing to do on New Year's Day– but it's fun to look back and think about everything that's happened in the last year. This year was a big one for me.
I graduated from college, got a job at Wal-Mart, got a job at Saatchi & Saatchi X, quit my job at Wal-Mart, bought my first car, got promoted to AE after 6 months at work, I quit my job at Outback, my Mom came home from her year-long deployment in the Middle East, I got married!, my brother left for Iraq, I gambled in Vegas, and I'm learning to cook!
2006 also brought several river float-trips, the introduction of pictures to the Xanga, frito burritos, Razorback football, and Jazzercise (literally my first attempt at physical activity in my life — I have to break down and buy a new pair of tennis shoes this month – I've had the same pair since junior high).
I can't wait to write my Jan 1, 2008 entry this time next year — I wonder what 2007 will bring.
Okay … this “first attempt at physical activity … ” that’s a lie. Remember that time we went running? Oh no, wait, I think you were actually planning a MARATHON at that point. AND remember that time we went swimming? I tried. And what do I get? I’ll tell you what I get. Replaced by middle-aged women and energetic jazz tunes. Ridiculous. Did you get my sweet Christmas card?
I’m proud of you and your jazzercise. Hopefully I can stick to a workout routine this coming semester…
Do you think I should go into modeling? I obviously have a gift.
