I felt like Laura on my way home from work yesterday– weird things kept happening.

I was driving in Johnson, which is barely a two-lane road– no shoulder, no turn lane, some idiot pulls out in front of me and goes 15 mph. I honk at him, which perhaps I ought not have done, but he awakened the road rage in me (and I rarely pass up a horn opportunity). He slammed on his brakes in retaliation and then turned off the road. Ok. Next idiot was only a few seconds away.

Approximately a quarter-mile down the road I have to stop, yet again, because this time there is a man walking in the middle of the road. Bear in mind, this is 5:00 on Monday afternoon in NW Arkansas– there are CARS on the road. Now, it was drizzling a little, so I’m sure the side of the road was a little muddy. Not my fault. Also, not my fault that I am in a CAR and THIS GUY was WALKING IN THE ROAD. By “walking in the road” I don’t mean walking along the edge of the road. I mean walking midway between the painted lines in my lane. So I stop until I can go around him. I give him a dirty look which I’m sure didn’t bother him. (I did not use my horn.)

I get to Wal-Mart to pick up my White Cheddar Cheez-its (the main reason for the stop) and they are out of the kind of make-up I need. This is Wal-Mart! Hello!

THEN! This is the best part… I get back out to my car and someone has put a dirty diaper under the wheel of my car while I was in Wal-Mart. What is this world coming to!? Not only did someone change their kid’s diaper in the car, in the rain, instead of somewhere warm and comfortable for the kid– but then instead of disposing of the diaper appropriately, they decide to inconvenience a stranger (me!).

THEN! I get home only to discover that I am out of cereal and I had to eat White Cheddar Cheez-its for supper.

Bleh.

  1. Welcome to my life.

  2. White Cheeze-its for supper was the least of your problems I fear.  Sorry you dealt with all the wierdos in NWA yesterday.

  3. You use white cheddar cheez-its as make-up?  Eating them for supper is bad enough!!!
