Buddy, I have plans to teach you things. Important, complex, significant things. I want to teach you how to navigate this world and the unpredictable people in it. I want to teach you responsibility, accountability, humility. I want to teach you to juggle what life throws your way and to pick yourself up when you fall.
Adulting. I want to teach you adulting.
But this week, I wanted to teach you that sometimes adulting means knowing when to turn off the swirl in your brain, tune out the world, and draw rainbow poop in sidewalk chalk on the driveway.
I like nonsense — it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope…and that enables you to laugh at all of life’s realities.
